Johnson Fires Minister, Attorney General Calls For Resignation

Image
The pressure on Prime Minister Boris Johnson is mounting: he is fighting for office and sacks housing secretary Michael Gove. The Minister for Wales is also resigning. UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who is increasingly under pressure, has reportedly sacked his old colleague Michael Gove from the cabinet. "He fired Michael Gove," James Duddridge, a close associate of Johnson, told Sky News. According to British media reports, Gove, who was considered an influential member of the cabinet, had asked the head of government to resign. Michael Gove campaigned alongside Johnson during the 2016 Brexit referendum campaign to leave the EU. However, the relationship between the two was always marked by competition. Gove has held various posts in government over the years. Most recently, the Conservative politician was responsible for Johnson's plan to equalize living conditions in Great Britain as Minister for Building and Housing. Attorney General Braverman is considering running...

A New World Order Is Emerging

Image
The democracies of the West are moving closer together, they are courting Indo-Pacific partners. But an authoritarian bloc around Russia and China is also striving for dominance. The reports about war and political crises, Corona and rising inflation are driving people. It is easy to lose sight of the fact that a new world order is currently emerging. The dividing lines of the next generation are drawn: between the West and the rest of the nations, between liberal democracies and illiberal autocracies, between those who join the alliances that are currently emerging and those who pursue their own interests independently of them. First of all, Vladimir Putin has achieved what would have been unthinkable without his warlike expansionism. The transatlantic partnership, the European Union and NATO are more united, more determined, more security-conscious and more defensive than they have been for a long time. The alliance is now also joined by the two Scandinavian neutrals, Sweden and Finl...

Russia-Ukraine Conflict: Military Expects Heavy Fighting At Steel Plant In Mariupol

Image
Azov steel was recently heavily shelled. Ukraine assumes that Russia wants to capture the last Ukrainian bastion in the city by May 9. After women, old people and children left the Azov steelworks in Mariupol, Ukraine fears heavy fighting between the soldiers who are still entrenched there and the Russian troops. The Ukrainian general staff announced that the units in the steelworks area were still surrounded. There are Russian attacks with "support of artillery and tank attacks".  "The enemy is trying to finish off the defenders of Azov Steel, they are trying to do it before May 9 as a gift to Vladimir Putin," said Oleksiy Arestovych, adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Russia celebrates the Soviet Union's victory over Nazi Germany with a traditional military parade in Moscow on May 9, which is now mainly used for propaganda purposes.  Hundreds of soldiers have holed up in the industrial complex, which is the last bastion of the Ukrainian milita...

Russia-Ukraine Conflict: Ukraine Is Said To Have Sunk "Moskva" With The Help Of US Information

Image
The Russian warship "Moskva" sank in mid-April. According to reports, US intelligence information helped the Ukrainian military locate the cruiser. Before the sinking of the Russian missile cruiser Moskva, US intelligence services are said to have provided Ukraine with information about the location of the warship. US broadcaster NBC, citing unnamed US officials, reported that Ukraine had asked the US for information about a ship cruising in the Black Sea. The US intelligence services then identified the ship as Moskva and passed on its position to the Ukrainians. However, US services were unaware that the Ukrainians would attack the flagship of Russia's Black Sea Fleet, officials told the channel. The AP news agency, citing its own source, reported that the US had shared information about the location of the Moscow River. Ukraine made the decision to attack the ship on its own. A senior US official told AFP that the US had failed to provide Ukraine with information aimed...
